Federal Election Commission receipts searchable under the contributor name Juan Merchan show three 2020 ActBlue items. The New York Post and the Washington Examiner reported the same line items: $15 earmarked for Biden for President on July 26, 2020, then $10 to the Progressive Turnout Project and $10 to Stop Republicans on July 27. The FEC occupation field, those articles said, listed “judge” and the New York State Office of Court Administration as employer.
The primary search page is the Commission’s own receipts filter. This site does not invent a receipt ID that is not copied from that database. Open the search. The dollar amounts above are the amounts those newspapers reported after opening it. A news article is not a court finding that the donations required recusal.
The New York Advisory Committee on Judicial Ethics later treated modest contributions totaling less than $50, more than two years old, as not a reasonable basis to question impartiality. That is Opinion 23-54, covered in a separate post. Reuters later reported that the Commission on Judicial Conduct dismissed a complaint about the donations with a caution. A caution is not a recusal order. A caution is not a crime.
